OutPsych is a group practice devoted to providing care that sees context over pathology.

We offer comprehensive psychiatric treatment, gender-affirming hormone therapy, perinatal and reproductive mental health support, and hormone optimization.

Our providers can see patients throughout the lifespan, offering support for folks age 6 and up.

We center the needs of queer, trans, and neurodivergent people—and anyone who’s been told they’re “too complex,” “too sensitive,” or “too much.”

Because healing isn’t about making you normal.

It’s about helping you feel whole in a world that keeps asking you to shrink.

More on Our Philosophy

Jess Romeo, founder of OutPsych

This practice started three years ago under a different name — Integra Mental Health. Back then I thought integrative psychiatry, balancing holistic treatments with western medicine, was a good answer for patients a system kept dismissing.

As we grew, I realized that wasn’t wrong, but it wasn’t enough. Truly integrative care meant interrogating the foundations of our training, and continually evolving to give patients the care they deserve.

Our patients showed us where to look. Queer, trans, neurodivergent, perimenopausal, postpartum, worn down from years of being the capable one. Different lives, but the same fight to be seen as real. Called too sensitive, too much, for as long as they can remember, and made to believe that whatever is happening to them was either not really happening, or was their own fault.

That second injury is the one our own field keeps handing out. We'd been trained to spot deviance and call it pathology, or deliver control disguised as help—without checking in with patients about what matters most to them.

So, we had to outpsych our own training: to see research evidence and community wisdom as co-equal, and making a practice of asking whose version of normal we're upholding, and at what cost.

That's what OutPsych means.

It’s not about outsmarting you or anyone else.

It’s about our unflinching commitment to growth, learning, and leaning into discomfort, not away from it.

We see symptoms in context.

We see you as an expert collaborator, helping us optimize and direct our expertise to best serve you.

Whether you need psychiatric care, gender-affirming treatment, support through pregnancy and postpartum, or hormone optimization through perimenopause—we provide comprehensive care that never forgets you’re a whole person.
