The online half of your Maryland renewal, in the trans healthcare training most of us never got.
Maryland lets you do twenty of your forty hours online, and these three ASWB-approved courses cover all twenty with the trans healthcare training most of us have been improvising without, taught by a trans clinician who does this work every day, for $397 until the 31st.
Most people take the three.

- 22.75 ASWB ACE-approved CE hours, Category II in Maryland
- One certificate per course, generated the moment you finish
- Surgery letter templates and the assessment framework
- A lab-reading handout for clinicians who don't prescribe
- Family-session scripts and school-advocacy language
- Audio that plays on your phone like a podcast
- Lifetime access, and the downloads are yours to keep
- Credit available through August 14, 2028
Each module is several hours long and doesn't skip the clinical detail, but you don't need to be at a desk for most of it. A module fits into a week of commutes, and the three fit into two. The certificate carries the hours, the credit type, the completion date, and the ASWB ACE statement, which is what the Maryland Board wants to see if they ever ask.
How Maryland counts your hours
Your license renews on October 31, and the Board asks for 40 hours in each two-year cycle. Up to 20 of those can be Category II, which is the Board's term for online, self-paced courses from an ASWB ACE-approved provider. My Gender IQ's courses qualify, and the three clinical modules come to 22.75 hours, so one purchase would take care of your whole online allotment.
The remaining 20 hours need to be Category I, which means live, and that's also where your three anti-oppressive-practice hours and three ethics hours come from. We can't help with those, but if the online half is the part you keep putting off, we can make it fairly painless.

It's a hard moment to be a trans person, and a confusing one to be a clinician who works with trans people. The rules keep shifting, the headlines don't let up, and clients are showing up with questions that most of us never got in school: whether their kid can still get care, whether a letter written here will hold up somewhere else, what happens to a prescription if a clinic closes.
Nobody expects you to have every answer. What helps is knowing enough that you don't freeze, and knowing where to send someone when the question is bigger than you are. That's what these courses are for. They're built around the clinical work itself: how an assessment is structured, what a letter needs to say, what the medications do and what the labs mean, and how to sit with a parent whose fear is coming from a place of love.
For comparison, a single live conference day runs $219 to $249 for six hours and you keep nothing. This is the whole online half of your renewal, and you keep all of it.
The three clinical modules, sold separately
Any two of these cost about the same as all three, which is why most people take the bundle.
Guide to Gender-Affirming Surgery Assessment
Covers the letter your client needs and the assessment that sits behind it, with real attention to the wording that gets a letter accepted the first time. If you've ever rewritten paragraph two more than once, this one is for you.
Working with Trans Youth & Families
What to say when a parent asks the question you weren't ready for, and how to do family work and school advocacy while keeping a kid's reality and a caregiver's fear in the same room.
Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy
Written for clinicians who don't prescribe but still need to make sense of the chart: what the medications do, what the labs mean, what's typical around month three, and when something is worth a referral.
If you only need a few more hours
Tap any course to see what's in it. The five history, language, and practice-setup modules are also available together as Foundations.
If you only need one
There are five free single lessons, each about an hour and all ACE-approved, which is a nice way to see how the courses feel before committing to a bigger one.
Accepted by the Maryland Board for Category II hours
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by My Gender IQ. Pinnacle Conference, LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Pinnacle Conference, LLC is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing each course receive the general continuing education credits listed on that course.
The Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners accepts courses from ASWB ACE-approved providers toward Category II hours. These courses are Category II.
Jess Romeo, PMHNP-BC, MSW
I teach most of these modules. I trained as a social worker before I became a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and I'm trans, so I've written plenty of letters and I've also been the person waiting on one. I speak nationally on trans healthcare, and I run OutPsych, a group psychiatric practice where this is our everyday work. I also still remember what the second half of October feels like.
Guest faculty across the modules include Rebecca Minor, Aery Maxwell, LCSW-C, and Tesiah Coleman.
What people said after taking these
"I'm blown away by how comprehensive this is, and I'm only through the history portion!"
Ike Lughna, LCSW"This training was comprehensive and thorough and provided a lot of really great resources for providers and patients alike. This training will help me advocate for my patients and reduce a barrier to care."
Christine Possemato, PMHNP-BC"You are confident, measured, and very approachable, in addition to clearly knowing your stuff. That's a combination you don't always find."
Andrew Penn, PMHNP-BCQuestions Maryland social workers ask us
Will Maryland accept these hours?
Yes, as Category II. The Board accepts courses from ASWB ACE-approved providers without any extra review, and Pinnacle Conference, LLC holds that approval through Joint Accreditation. You'll want to hang on to your certificate for the Board's record-retention window, which is the same as with any other CE.
Can I pay in two parts?
You can. The three-course bundle is $397 in full or two payments of $199, and the second payment runs a month after the first.
What if I buy this and don't finish by the 31st?
Anything you finish after October 31 counts toward your 2028 renewal, and credit is available through August 14, 2028, so nothing goes to waste. The price is what ends on the 31st, not the courses.
How many of my 40 hours can be online?
20 if you hold an LCSW-C, LMSW, or LGSW, and 15 for an LBSW. The bundle comes to 22.75 hours; whatever you don't use this cycle carries into the next one.
Do these count toward the anti-oppressive-practice or ethics requirements?
Unfortunately not. Maryland asks for those hours to be Category I, which means live, so you'll want to find those somewhere else.
How long does it take?
A module fits into a week of commutes at about an hour a day, and the three fit into two weeks. If you're buying on the 24th or later and need all twenty hours by the 31st, that's a push; buying one module and finishing it is realistic, and the rest carries forward.
Can I listen instead of watch?
You can. The audio plays on your phone the way a podcast would, and the slides and downloads will be there when you're back at a screen.
I'm a prescriber on this list. Does this count for me?
It does. The same Joint Accreditation covers ANCC contact hours and AMA PRA Category 1 credit, and the price is the same. The prescriber-level lessons on hormones and psychiatric care are in the Hormone Therapy module.
What do I actually submit to the Board?
One certificate per course, generated when you finish, with the ASWB ACE statement through Joint Accreditation and the other details the Board looks for. If you're ever audited, that's the document you'd upload.
Is the discount really over on October 31?
It is. Prices return to list on November 1, and the bundle pricing won't be back before the next renewal cycle.
I'm not licensed in Maryland. Does this still work for me?
The hours count wherever you are; your renewal date and online-hour limits are set by your own board, and the price ends the same day for everyone.
Can I get this for my whole practice?
Yes. Reply to any of the emails or write to jess@outpsych.com and I'll set up a group price.
If you're here, you already care.
The hours are the easier part, and we're glad to help with them.
